OBITUARIES OF CHAMPION FAMILY


LLEWELLYN EARL CHAMPION
September 23, 1874 – June 27, 1921


LLEWELLYN EARL CHAMPION of 1144 Norwood Avenue died at his home, Monday, June the twenty-seventh, after an illness of six months of Brights disease, at the age of forty-six years. Mr. Champion was held the highest esteem by his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred CHAMPION, and one son Lloyd, his mother, Mrs Hattie CHAMPION and three brothers, Kenney, Ralph and Merrill, all of this city. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at ten o’clock at the residence, conducted by Rev. Robert S. Chalmers of St. Mark’s Episcopal church. Steadman Lodge 208 K.(nights) of P.(ythias) The burial was at Forest Cemetery.


MARTHA MELLISA HARMON

MARTHA MELLISA HARMON, DAUGHTER OF JACOB & DELILAH MIZER was born in Pike Twp., Fulton Co., Oct. 13, 1874 and died Feb. 27, 1923, age 48 y, 4mo, 14d.

     Nov. 15, 1896 she married WILLIAM HARMON and resided many years in Delta. One son by a former marriage, LLOYD CHAMPION of Genoa, Ohio, 3 daughters, Mrs. R.N. HARRIS of Delta, and MARY AND ESTELLA HARMON, and her husband survive her. One stepson, FRANK HARMON of Delta, 4 grandchildren, her Mother, 2 brothers and 2 sisters also survive her.

     Lloyd E. CHAMPION of Camp Gordian, Alabama was called home on account of the death of his grandfather, JACOB MIZER, of Delta. He arrived in Genoa Sunday night remaining until Monday when accompanied by Mrs. they went to Delta. They will return to Genoa Saturday where he will spend a few days with friends and relatives before returning.


LLOYD EUGENE CHAMPION
March 17, 1896 – April 23, 1974


     Services for LLOYD E. CHAMPION. 78 of 109 South Main St., Genoa were Friday in Robinson Mortuary, with burial in Clay Cemetery.

     Mr. Champion, who died Tuesday, April 23 1974, in his home, was a truck driver for a number of area firms, including R.A. Bartley Co., where he worked for 18 years before retiring in 1961. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; son, Vance of Genoa; daughters, Mrs. Margaret ROGERS, of Northwood, Mrs. Elsie SCHMITT, of Port Clinton, and Mrs. Jean FRY, of Gibsonburg; sister, Mrs. Helen HARRIS, of Delta; and eleven grandchildren.

     The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to Genoa Christian Church.


HAZEL CORRINE HOLLAND CHAMPION
November 5, 1898 – September 11, 1983


     Mrs. Hazel Champion, 84, formerly of Main Street died Sunday in Heartland of Perrysburg, where she lived the last 4 years. She was the widow of Lloyd Champion. Surviving are her son, Vance, and daughters, Mrs. Margaret ROGERS, Mrs. Elsie SCHMITT & Jean FRY. Services will be at 1:30 PM, Wednesday in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia MORTUARY, Genoa where the body will be after 7 tonight. The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to Genoa Christian Church, the auxiliary of Genoa Post, American Legion, or the charity of the donors choice.


DOUGLAS VANCE CHAMPION
January 13, 1962 – October 22, 1994


     DOUGLAS V. CHAMPION 32, of Oregon, Ohio, formerly of Genoa, OH, died Saturday, October 22, 1994, after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Genoa, OH.

     Mr. Champion was born in Oregon, Oh, on January 13, 1962 to Vance and Alberna (BRINGE) CHAMPION. He was employed as a truck driver for the past 6 months, for E & L Transport in Woodhaven, MI, he had also worked for 4 years at the Premier Tank Lines Co., in Toledo OH, and for 6 years at John’s Body Shop in Elmore, Ohio.

     He was a member of the Genoa Christian Church, in Genoa, as well as the International Brotherhood of Teamsters No. 299, the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, Maumee Valley Chapter, the A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio, Region 7, and was Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout Troop No. 310, Genoa, Ohio.

     Survivors include his parents, Vance and Alberna CHAMPION of Genoa, brothers, Rev. Paul H. (Margaret) CHAMPION of Anderson, Indiana, 3 neices and 3 nephews.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 26, 1994, in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Genoa, Oh. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. Monday, October 24, and 9-9p.m. Tuesday, October 25, with family present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Both days. Internment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family suggests memorials be to the Genoa Christian Church or the Boy Scout Troop No 310, Genoa, Ohio.


STELLA ISABEL (HARMON) SUNDAY,
January 21, 1961; Born September 21, 1912

Note: Stella was a daughter of William HARMON and Martha Mellisa MIZER.

     Mrs. STELLA SUNDAY, 48, of Lincoln Ave., Swanton, died yesterday at home. Mrs. Sunday was born in Delta and was a lifelong resident of the Delta and Swanton area. She was a member of Swanton Methodist Church and was associate matron of Maree Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

     Surviving are her husband, John; son, Larry, daughter, Martha, all of Swanton; sisters, Mrs. Helen HARRIS, Delta, and Mrs. Mary HANNA, Oxford, Pa., and half-brother, Lloyd CHAMPION, Genoa.

     Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. in the Biel & Malone Mortuary, Swanton, with burial in Swanton Cemetery, GES services will be tomorrow at 8 pm.


MRS JACOB MIZER dies April 3, 1930—81 YEARS OLD
     Mrs. Delilah Mizer, 81, wife of the late JACOB MIZER, died April 13, after a long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday from the First U.B. church of which she was a member, Reverend Purdy, Pastor, officiated. Burial was made in Greenlawn, (Cemetery, Delta, Ohio). Two daughters and two sons are left to cherish the memory of this good mother.
