OBITUARY

Edward H. MEISER Sr.,
February 19, 2008

CLIFTON PARK:
     LTC US Army (Ret) Edward H. Meiser Sr., 88, of Clifton Park, died suddenly at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady after being stricken at his home on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Born September 14, 1919 in Stockton, Md., he was the son of Charles H. and Hattie Florence Nock Meiser.

     A graduate of The Citadel, class of 1942, he earned his master's degree at Wagner College. He is the widower of Eva Hill Meiser, who died in 1992. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers where he was a senior water pollution investigator. A member of the Shenendehowa Methodist Church and a 32 degree mason and past master, he was a member of On Da Wa Lodge #820 Mechanicville, N.Y., and Oriental Shrine, Troy, N.Y. and a member and past master of the former Montgomery Lodge, Stillwater. He was the president of the Mechanicville Cemetery Association (Hudson View).

     He was very active in the day-to-day running of the cemetery and a tireless record keeper. He was the publicist for the Army Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans and an active member of the NCICV. He was a member of SAAR Saratoga Albany Armature Radio Niskayuna Chapter.

     Survivors include two sons, Rev. Edward H. Meiser Jr. of Elmira, N.Y., LtCol Raleigh H. (Amanda) Meiser, USMC Central Command Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Kathryn Alexandra and Kelly Lynn Meiser. Predeceased by a brother, Charles H. Meiser Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 noon from the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville with the Reverend Dr. Allen Rhode officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 - 12 noon at the funeral home.      Interment with military honors will be in the Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher House, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, 12208. (Fisher House provides living accommodations for wounded military members while recovering in the hospital).
