FLEMING, Ross Arlen October 24, 2007 Ross Arlen Fleming; FLORENCE, S.C. - A funeral service for Ross Arlen Fleming, husband of Janice T. Fleming, will be at 11:00AM , Saturday, October 27, 2007, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Litts and Rev. Neal Wood officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:00-8:00 at Cain Funeral Home. Mr. Fleming will be taken to Weigel Funeral Home, Metamora, OH for graveside services Wednesday October 31, 2007 in Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, OH. Memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1300 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505. Mr. Fleming, 68, of Florence, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, in a local hospital. He was born November 17, 1938, in Wauseon, OH, to the late Roscoe Leroy and Helen File Fleming. He received his BS degree from Albion College, Albion, MI and a MS degree from Syracuse University. He served as the Director of Cauthen Educational Media Center at Francis Marion University from 1976 until his retirement in 200l. He served on numerous campus committees, was active in the community as a board member of United Way and as a Cub and Boy Scout leader, member of Palmetto Eastern Railroad Modelers, and attended Highland Park United Methodist Church. In Ohio, he was a Mason and an member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Professionally, he was a member of the SC Association for Education Communications and Technology and served as President, Vice President and Board member of that organization. Ross was also an avid golfer. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: son, David (Jennette) Fleming of Florence; daughters, Debra Howell of Fayetteville, NC and Ellen (David) Hallett of Lyons, OH; grandchildren, Michael, Anna and Rachel Fleming, Jon and David Howell and Ross and Donald Hallett; sister, Rosalee Heyman of Fayetteville, NC. www.cainfuneralhome.com |
