CONRAD, Raleigh February 8, 1920 - March 15, 2007 Raleigh B. Conrad, age 87 of Hudson, passed away suddenly at his home on
Thursday, March 15, 2007. Raleigh was born on February 8, 1920 in Lyons, Ohio, the son of Chancey and Audrea (Spangler) Conrad. He graduated from Lyons High School. Raleigh was veteran of World War II. He married Alice L. Merillat on June 26, 1948 in Orlando, Florida. She preceded him in death on November 24, 1995.Raleigh and Alice made their home on a farm on Rome Road for 32 years before moving to Hudson in 1988. Raleigh was a former member of The First Baptist Church in Hudson, V F W Post 275 in Adrian and the James W. Kahle V F W Post 7574 of Lyons, Ohio. He enjoyed working outside, reading the Bible and having breakfast in Hudson. Surviving Raleigh are his children, Brenda Conrad of Atlanta, GA, Ronald (Bridget) Conrad of Addison, Susan (Robert) Delezenne of Hudson, Dennis Conrad of Tampa, FL, Linda (Lawrence) Micol of Addison, thirteen grandchildren, Kriss (Mike) Brady, Lisa Weaver, Connie (Rod) Norton, Greg (Amber) Delezenne, Brandon Conrad, Curt (Shelley) Micol, Carrie (Jim) Kandell, Jacob (Misty) Conrad, Jeff Delezenne, Jessica Conrad, Kimberly Micol, Kayla Conrad, Kyle Conrad, eight great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, Marie Weaver of Sebring, Florida, Nina Patton of Toledo, Ohio Earl (Jean) Conrad of Sebring, Florida, Lawrence Conrad of Adrian, Marjorie Allwood of Sebring, Florida, Duane (Charlene) Conrad of Metamora, Ohio, Maxine Mabee of Jasper and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Raleigh was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral Services for Raleigh will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Matthew SeGraves officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Full Military Honors will be performed by the Lyons V F W. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. Memorials are suggested to the Lyons V F W or a charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
