POKORNIK, Frank Charles, Jr. December 14, 2004 POKORNIK Frank Charles, Jr. Frank Charles Pokornik Jr., age 89, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. He was born May 20, 1915, in Bryan, Ohio to Frank C. and Kristina (Kacer) Pokornik. On June 26, 1943, he married Bessie Santavy. Frank was a farmer his entire life. He also was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lyons and the Catholic Order of Forresters. Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bessie; daughters, Shirley (Carroll) Griffeth of Lyons, OH and Barbara Pokornik of Lyons, OH; brother, Jerry Pokornik of Lyons, OH; 3 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Anna Tejkl and Elizabeth Smazenka. Visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2004, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, Ohio. A Scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lyons on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Robert Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyons Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Published: Toledo Blade on Dec 16, 2004 |
