OBITUARY:
RICE, Victor L.
September 27, 2009




     VICTOR L. RICE, 75, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and formerly of South Vienna, Ohio died September 27, 2009 after a battle with lung cancer.

     He was born on November 17, 1933 in Fayette County, Ohio the son of Fern and Celia (Belding) Rice.

     Victor spent most of his life in the United States Air Force and traveled all over the world. After his Air Force career, he settled in South Vienna, Ohio where he worked for Clark Landmark in South Charleston for 21 years. He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 397, NCOA, DAV, and the retired enlisted Association. Victor and his wife, Dulie were very active, he especially loved his large garden every year and attending county fairs all over Ohio. Their favorite fair was the Fulton County fair in Wauseon, Ohio which was near where Victor grew up in Lyons, Ohio. They moved to Ft. Walton Beach five years ago.

     He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Obdulia (Serna) Rice; three sons, Victor II and his wife, Christine Rice of Temecula, California, Thomas A. Rice of Pass Christian, Mississippi and Daniel S. Rice of St. Paris; and six grandchildren, Stephanie Rice of Springfield, Tiffany Byron of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kendall, Chandler and Colin Rice, all of Temecula, California, and Jenny Rice and her family of Mt. Kisco, New York. Victor also had many relatives in and around the Lyons, Ohio area including a niece, Gail Fether; nephew, Jeff Fether and his family; brothers-in-law, Bill, Moises "J.R.", Robert, and David Serna and their families; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel Burher; and two brothers, Glen Rice and Norman Rice. Victor's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Entombment with military honors will be held in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
