MACHACEK, John Joseph, Sr. July 6, 2009 John Joseph Machacek Sr., age 83, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, July 6, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 21, 1926, in Lyons, Ohio to Joseph and Anna (Smetka) Machacek. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. John retired from Bohn Aluminum and Brass in Adrian, Michigan, and he also farmed. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann (Steven) Foster, John Jr. (Marianne) Machacek and Lorraine S. (Keith) Holt; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and 4 infant siblings. Friends and family may visit Wednesday, July 8th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9th, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Assumption. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton County, 230 Westfield Dr., Archbold, OH 43502.
