COX, Ethel (SALLOWS) April 26, 2009 LYONS, Ohio - Ethel S. Cox died April 26, 2009, at Tendercare Health Care in Adrian. She was 93. Ethel was born on April 26, 1916, in Tipton, Mich., to Leon and Mildred (Richardson) Sallows. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1933 and in 1936 she married Robert Cox. Together they had five children and owned a farm where they raised registered Herefords. Ethel was well known for her cooking and baking. Ethel was a very active member of Lyons Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, CWF member and a deaconess. She was a founding member of the State Line Extension Club, holding all offices. She was also a 4-H leader for cooking, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening. Ethel is survived by her children, Ann (Kenn) Lemley of Riga, Mich., Mike (Carol) and Charles Cox of Morenci, Mich., and Mary (Dan) Gilson of Deerfield, Mich.; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and one sister Janet Standish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Marilee Cox of Morenci; daughter-in-law, Karen Cox of Morenci; one brother, two sisters and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Lyons Christian Church, 138 E. Morenci St., Lyons, Ohio, where funeral services will be on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Brent Pomeroy officiating. Internment services to follow at Lyons Cemetery. The Lord brought Ethel to earth on April 26 and took her back to heaven on the same date. Arrangements entrusted to Gasiorowski-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, Toledo, Ohio.
