FINFERA, Roger April 8, 2009 Roger R. Finfera, age 62, of Swanton, Ohio, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1947, to Richard and Mary E. (Dierkens) Finfera. Roger attended Macomber's auto mechanic school. Following graduation, he joined the 82nd Airborne. He later received his bachelor's degree from Davis College. On September 1, 1972, he married Becky Lumbrezer. Roger was a floor layer before retiring in 2002. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic War Veterans Post #306 in Assumption, and Carpenter's Local Union 248. He loved playing poker, especially Texas Hold' Em, and was an avid Ohio State fan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 36 years, Becky; father, Richard; sons, Jason (Wendy) Finfera, Bryan (Michelle) Finfera and Aaron (Rebecca) Finfera; daughter, Heather Becker; grandchildren, Nathan, Jade and Jessica Finfera, and Ashley, Emma and Sarah Becker; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, and brother, Rudy. Friends and family may visit Monday, April 13th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a Catholic War Veterans service will be held at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Scripture service. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 14th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Marygrove, 1750 N. Raab Road. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Interment will follow at Marygrove Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
