Delila May SHIBLER was born May 17, 1886 to Samuel Heinrick (Henry) SHIBLER and Elizabeth LEININGER. Known as Lila, she was a twin to her sister, Kate (SHIBLER) WINZLER. Lila & Kate were the 3rd & 4th, of a total of 9 children, of Samuel & Elizabeth (LEININGER) SHIBLER. |

Here is Delila's family probably late in 1913 or early 1914 because baby Helen was born May 18, 1913. Charles and Lila were about 36 years old. Lila was 3 months older than Charles. In this photo, Henry (Hank) was about 4 and Lucille was about 3 years old. |

After her son, Frank married Delpha Adell BARNES in 1946, she let them live in the family farmhouse and Lila moved into an apartment in AI, Ohio. Lila later moved into an apartment in Delta at 711 Main Street.

Lila lived in her apartment in Delta until her death in 1948. Grandson, Bernie Falor says that she developed a heart condition in 1945-46. She would drink a tea as medication which consisted of cammomile, sugar, milk and hot water. Lila belonged to the Delta Garden Club and REA. She was known to have a beautiful singing voice. Bernie says that Gramma Lila was a VERY good cook. She always had a big breakfast waiting and kept a very clean house. |
