So far I haven't been able to find William Hopkins (1836 1928) or Mary HUTCHINSON (1838 - 1925) in
the 1860 or 1850 Census records. cpk

William E. HOPKINS (1836 - 1928) married Mary M. HUTCHINSON (1838 - 1925) about 1852.
Ida A. HOPKINS (b. abt. 1857) married James PHILLIPS. I found one child born to them, Emma M. PHILLIPS (b. Nov. 1882) in Amboy Twp.
Clarence (Melville) HOPKINS (Jan, 1862).
Clayton P. HOPKINS (1864 - 1943) married Julia Ann MIZER (1872 - 1951) on October 8, 1890. They had 4
children, only one of which lived beyond the age of 2, Florence Opal (1892 - 1987).

The Census records that William owned his farm and that it was mortgaged. Mary is listed as having given birth to
4 children but I have only found 3 children. Living children are listed as 2 children. Does that mean that Ida died? I
couldn't find her in subsequent Census records.

The Census records that William owned his farm free of mortgage. Also that Mary immigrated in 1885 which
doesn't seem right if they have been married over 50 years. Mary had 4 children born and 2 were alive in 1910.
Did Ida die? Clarence (Melvin?) doesn't show a family but in 1920 he has a wife, a son & daughter, 19 & 18 respectively.
Where were they in 1910?
