My records do not go back before 1837. However there was a marriage of a Thomas Greenfield in Whitby in the second quarter of 1866 and there was also a birth of a Walter Greenfield in Whitby in the first quarter of 1867. As Margaret was born there then I think that it is a fairly good bet. You can find out how to get the full certificates on http//:www.statistics.gov.uk/registration/certificates.asp . If these are right then the marriage certificate will give you Thomas Greenfield's father's name. If they are not then please come back to me. cheers Roger -----Original Message----- From: "Kelly Leighton" <> Sent: 19 January 2003 15:38 To: "" <> Subject: Thomas Greenfield Roger, I saw your http://www.greenfields.info/ page and wondered if you might have a clue for me as to my Thomas Greenfield. From the 1900 La Plata county Colorado, USA census, my Thomas was born @ July 1833. I don't know where in England. Somewhere about 1866, he married Maragret Anna Bulmer, daughter of Joseph Bulmer and ? Robinson. Thomas came to America @ 1868, she followed @ 1870. In 1880, they appear in the Arapaho county Colorado, USA census, as well as the 1881 city directory for Denver, Colorado. He was listed as a stone mason in both places. Their daughter Margaret Elfrida Greenfield was born on 26 August, 1875 in Whitby, Yorkshire, England. The only other thing I know about these Greenfiel\ds was a son Walter M born to them in 1867, don't know where. I have Maragaret Bulmer Greenfield's death certificate, but no new info there. Don't know when or where Thomas died or from where or exactly when he emmigrated. Don't know anything specific about Thomas' birth or ancestry. Have you got anything in your collection that could tie in with my paltry facts? Thanks for your time, Take care, Kelly
