Shirley M. Murray, 84, of Mt. Pocono, died Monday in the Brookmont Nursing Home, Chestnuthill Township. She was the wife of the late William J. Murray.
Born on January 16, 1914 in Pocono Lake, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Anna (Radkey) Keiper and had lived in the area all of her life. She was a retired technician from National Drug Co., now Connaught Laboratories in Swiftwater.
She was a member of the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary and the Mt. Pocono United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three nieces, Shirley A. Lansdowne and Wanda Altemose, both of Mt. Pocono and Harriet Franks of Pocono Lake; a nephew, Harvey Keiper of Bowmanstown; and several great nieces and nephews. She was as preceded in death by a sister, Arvilla Bisbing and three brothers, Russell Keiper, Harvey Keiper and Lloyd Keiper.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. John E. Charnock, Jr., officiating.
