Valentine Meckes, Sr. was born about 1747 in Bucks County, Pa and died about 1815 in Northampton County, Pa. His parents were Conrad and Anna Christina Meckes. He was listed as private class in Captain John Gregory's 1st Co. of Northampton County Milita Sept 25, 1780.(1)

He married Hannah Hagel about 1772. She was the daughter of Peter Hagel and Julianna UNKNOWN. She was born about 1755, and died about 1825.
