James Keiper was born 17 August 1817 in PA(S1). James died 16 May 1863 in Monroe Co. PA and was buried in the Salem Church cemetery, Gilbert(S1). *Note: some of the older stones are now illegible or sunken into the ground, his is one of these.
His parents were John and Barbara Keiper.
He married Elizabeth Meckes in 1839(S2). She was born 13 May 1825 in Northampton Co, PA was christened 13 Sep 1825 in Salem Union Church, Gilbert(S1). Sponsors were Peter Borger and Elizabeth Borger(S1). Elizabeth died 1882 in Tunkannock Twp. Monroe Co. and was buried in Long Pond Cemetery(S1,3). Her parents were John Meckes and Charlotte Frantz(S1).
