In the 23 Feb 1811 will of Job Cherry, Sr, his son Jeremiah Cherry was mentioned
(Martin County, North Carolina Will Book 2, pp 22-23, proven December court 1814.)
"Md. on 7th Inst. at the residence of Lawrence Cherry, Esq. by the Rev.

of Darling Cherry, Esq. -- Raleigh Register Semi-Weekly, Oct. 14, 1830."
