To: Those interested in the Keepers Family genealogy.
From: Merle Cliff Keepers
Subject: Indices and family group numbers.
The assignment of group identities was arbitrary on the part of
the genealogists who prepared these data. It was necessary to simplify and
codify the huge volume of information. Generally, the identity was established
according to the area in which the founder lived. Descendants are, therefore,
identified to the area (state, county) of the group founder even though none
may still live there now.
You
will note that each index page is keyed to page, group and chart number
headings. The page number will be meaningless to the reader since it is a
detail identity for the convenience of the genealogist. The group and chart
numbers will provide rapid availability of chart information for any name
chosen from the index.
