To holders of the Keepers Family Genealogy, 1979 edition: The vignettes on this website of the Keepers Family Genealogy are all contained in the 1979 edition of the family genealogy, which I refer to occasionally as Merle’s book. The Name Index and the Spouse Index have been updated, and, since some of the persons in indexes are still living, not all the names in the indexes have information connected to them other than their Group number. Wills & Documents are not in the 1979 edition.
Special Note: There are three new groups, Salem County, New Jersey , Morris County, New Jersey, and The Carolinas. Most of the lineage for the Morris County group was provided by Kathleen A. Straley. Most of the data for the Carolinas was provided by Emma Cronin.
The assignment of group identities was entirely arbitrary on the part of the original researchers. In some cases the group name may be misleading to researchers. For example, in the 1979 edition, a Joseph Keepers was known to be buried in New Jersey, hence the name: Essex County, NJ, for Group 10. However, further research has shown that Joseph and his near relatives were mainly located in Connellsville, PA, and the current "progenitor" for Group 10 is said to be "from Carlisle, PA." Therefore, I have taken the liberty of renaming Group 10 as Carlisle, PA. Any confusion will probably be resolved in the future, when the groups get merged. For the time being, the groupings help to keep all the Williams, Josephs, and Johns, etc., sorted out.
