The letter below is in response to a request for information concerning
the Keepers family. The request was
written by Mrs. Amelia F. (Russell H.) Miller of Deerfield, MA, dated February
6, 1966. She wrote, “Dear Mr.
Hollingsworth, your name has been given to me by Mrs. Alice Lindell of the
Delaware Historical Society...” She had
references to Stephen and Susanna, children of William and Esther Keepers, in
the records of Old Swedes Church. She
also requested that the records in New Castle County be checked. [JKK – 2004]

Dear Mrs. Miller.
In
1890, The Historical Society of Delaware, published the Records
of Holy Trinity (Old Swedes) Church from 1697 to 1773. On page 588, Child
Stephen, born September 4,1757, baptized March 7; parents William and Ester
Keeper, and on page 759, April 2, 1786, John Watson and Susanna Keepers. There
are no other Keepers in the records of Old Swedes, Wilmin.
On
page 313, of The Pennsylvania Archives, second series, Vol. XVLL. As a
passenger on the ship "Royal Union" from Rotterdam. Qualified
August 15, 1750. Frederick Keeper.

are no wills in Delaware previous to 1800 with the
name Keeper,
however, there may be administrations caused by interstates. The land records
previous to 1800 are in the Delaware State Archives at Dover. Delaware,

will be glad to look into land, probate and other records. I charge $2100 per
