David Hayes Estate Papers
Filed the 7th day of April, 1827

Note: William, the older brother, did not sign his
own name. The other signatures are:
Joseph Hemphill, Jr., Joseph Keepers, Samuel Butler, and Jacob Chalfant. Jacob Chalfant is referred to as a dear
friend in the 1840 will of Ann Hayes Keepers.

Note: “One bond on Jeremiah Baily, the amount of
which is $222.83 Cts. which appears to be insolvent.”


Note: Other names in the above are: David Beamount, expence (sic) of appraiser; Asher & Charles Miner for advertising; By cash paid Abishai Clark, County Treasurer, it being the amount of 2 ½ percent deducted out of the Balance of the Estate, it Being the amount according to the Collateral (?) Inheritance Law.
