Remarks:

 

This child was retarded, date of death is unknown; however, records show that he was still living in 1860.  Lewis and Mary Paralee Keepers named another son James in this family.  That James was born in 1851.

 

James enrolled in the Confederate Army, at San Antonio, Texas, on October 19,1861. His card shows the value of his horse, $75, and his equipment, $20.  Also, “number of miles to rendezvous – 120.”  His brother Joseph H. Keepers enrolled in the same company at the same time.
