Will of Drury Elkins

The desire and cash ------of I Drury Elkins is as follows. After my death I wish my wife, Winiford Elkins to have negro girl named Silva her lifetime with liberty of (my wife) remaining on the place where we now live so long as she doth live. I also wish her to have cattle and pork sausage for a plentiful supply throughout the year of the present cook with all the household and kitchen furniture except two beds and the other for Sarah Elkins and I also wish her to have two cows and calves. I also wish that my son Wm Elkins to have the land on which he doth live after his mother's death with liberty of living on this land as long as he think proper. I also wish my son Drury Elkins to have my grey horse and also twenty bushels of corn and good stash of fodder. I also wish my son Levi Elkins to have----horse -------- and twenty bushels of corn and a good stash of fodder. The balance of my estate I wish to be equally divided up amongest all my (eleven) children except William as the land is ---- and I wish him to have the above ------ is my seal with notes of my hand 14 Oct 1831
