TRENHOLM, Ivory James - 74, Malagash, passed away January 10, 1999, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Spence Settlement, N.B., he was a son of the late Alexander and Emma (Ash) Trenholm. He had been employed as an underground miner with the Canadian Salt Company for a total of 33 years, working in both Malagash and Pugwash, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Union Local 823. His true passion was farming and he enjoyed every aspect, especially the animals, and in particular his cows. He enjoyed being a grandfather and all the happiness his grandchildren brought into his life. Surviving are his wife, the former Isabel Reeves; daughter, Patricia and husband Byron Jamieson, North Wallace; son, Steven and wife Barbara, Malagash; sisters, Annie Trenholm, Sackville, N.B.; Agatha Stillman, Port Elgin, N.B.; brother, Melvin, Bayfield, N.B.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa and Miranda Jamieson; Amanda and Nicole Crowe; several nieces and nephews. MISNER, Lester Clarence - 93, Chipman Brook, Kings Co., died January 22, 1999, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Chipman Brook, he was a son of the late Joseph and Eunice (Stokes) Misner. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a mechanic and carpenter by trade and also worked as a cooper. He spent a number of years working at Berwick Bakery Ltd. He was a member of Black Rock Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, George, St. Catharines, Ont.; Richard, New Minas; daughters, Elsie (Mrs. Oran Hiltz), Ross Corner; Jean (Mrs. Roderick Reeves), Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. O'CONNELL-PATEY, Donna Marie - 52, passed away in Ottawa on January 12, 1999. Surviving are her husband, Benjamin Patey; daughters, Angela and Janice and son, Scott. Also six grandchildren, all residing in the Ontario area. Donna was born in Halifax, August 25, 1946. She was a beloved daughter of Doris O'Connell, mother, Lower Sackville; Ronald and Hilda O'Connell, father and stepmother, Kentville. Also survived by brother, Brad O'Connell, Lower Sackville; sisters, Gloria Trenaman, Dartmouth, and Angie Wournell, Lower Sackville; stepsisters, Shirley (Mrs. Robert Fleet), Ecum Secum; Gloria (Mrs. Bill Towsend), Kentville; Diane (Mrs. Karl Reeves), Prince Edward Island; stepbrothers, Larry Wheaton, Gaspereau; Glen Wheaton, Chester. Donna moved to Kentville at a young age and attended Kings County Academy and Mack Business College. She then returned to Halifax and worked at Fairley and Stevens and Volvo of Canada in the finance office. She later moved to New Glasgow where she owned and operated a Christian Book Store for a number of years. During this time she enrolled in university to further her education. She then moved to Burton, N.B., where she attended St. Thomas University in Fredericton. She graduated from St. Thomas University in May 1992 with a double major in psychology and gerontology. She made the dean's list and graduated with honours with distinction. Shortly after graduation she relocated to the Ottawa area where she was employed with the government, training and sending out home care workers to various locations, as needed. Donna was a very gifted individual, she was an artist and especially enjoyed painting seascapes. She was also an accomplished pianist and a composer of beautiful music. She will be remembered for her outstanding musical productions which she composed and directed for various churches for both children and adult presentations. Donna was a wonderful, loving person who touched and inspired lives wherever she went. She had a strength and faith that carried her through, no matter what she faced. She was such an encouragement to others. She will be sadly missed but our memories of her are full and rich because she touched our lives with music, love and laughter. BOND, Marjorie Joan - 72, Chester, died February 18, 1999, at home. Born in Chester Basin, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Eva Blanche (Veinotte) Eldridge. She was a dietary supervisor at Shoreham Village Home for many years. She was a member of Chester United Baptist Church, the choir, the board of trustees and the church ladies auxiliary. She was a member of Shoreham Village Senior Citizens Association, the auxiliary, former member of the board of directors, member of the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee and a very active volunteer at the home. She was a former member of Chester Curling Club. Surviving are her husband, Keith; son, Danny, Chester; sisters, Myrna (Mrs. Clifford Reeves), New Ross; Sheila Cooney, Dartmouth; brothers, Ronald, Bridgewater; Richard, Chester Basin; a grandson and a granddaughter. KEDDY, Clinton Stacey - 80, Lake Ramsey, Lunenburg Co., died February 19, 1999, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Nathan and Eunice (Turner) Keddy. He was a Cooper an avid woodsman, was employed with Reeves Forestry Mill for 11 years, and was a life long farmer. He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. He enjoyed teaming oxen, hunting and trapping as a hobby as well as a livelihood. REEVES, R. Carleton - 45, St. Albert, Alta., formerly of Port Hastings, died February 17, 1999, in St. Albert. Born in Sydney, he was a son of Mrs. Vidie (McKinnon) Reeves, Port Hawkesbury, and the late Ronald C. Reeves. He attended elementary school in Port Hastings and Port Hawkesbury High School. He was involved in the Strait area Scout Movement and a member of the Lions Baseball Club. He attended the Police Academy after which he joined the CNR Police serving in the Atlantic region and in Prince George, B.C. At the time of his death, he was CNR inspector in Edmonton. Surviving are his wife, the former Eva Hall; daughters, Terri, Prince George; Wendy, at home; sisters, Anne Reeves, Toronto; Shirley Beck, Chilliwack, B.C.; Jean Gonder, Whitehorse, N.W.T.; brothers, Reg, Tantallon; Michael, Halifax. KEDDY, Frank Edward - (1911-1999) Frank Edward Keddy, who turned 88 on January 11th, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the VG Site, QEII, on Saturday, February 27, 1999. Frank was born in Martins River, Lunenburg Co., in 1911. He was the fifth child of the late Joseph Edward and Nora Emila (Reeves) Keddy. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was predeceased by his brothers, Howard Austin (Liverpool), Roy Willoughby (Liverpool), Emmett Robert (New Ross), Marshall (Martins River), and sisters, Eva Etta Belle Faeder (Chester) and Winnifred Eveline Tingley (Halifax). He was also predeceased by his first wife, the former Vida May Armstrong (Kentville) and his second wife, the former Mary Ellen MacLean (Sydney Mines). Frank is survived by sons, Maurice Edward, Toronto; Douglas Roy, Toronto, and Bryan Francis, Halifax; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Frank was a strong, hard working and kind man who loved to sing and play his accordion. He was a carpenter by trade and in his spare time liked to carve wooden ships and folk art. He was very fond of animals, especially cats and dogs. He had been ill for a number of years, suffering from Alzheimers, and was cared for by his son, Bryan and daughter-in-law Anita. One of his favorite expressions was "May God bless and keep you all the days of your life", and we pray the same for him in his after life. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Camp Hill Cemetery in Halifax, where his ashes will be buried beside his wife, Mary Ellen. REEVES, Ray Otis - New Ross, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on May 29, 1999, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. He spent his entire life in New Ross, in the house where he was born. During his 80 years, he made many friends in the close-knit community of New Ross. He was a self-employed woodsman and trucker until his late retirement. He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, New Ross, and was on the church vestry for many years. He was best known for his love of fishing, playing cards and peppermints. Known affectionately as "Boppy", he enjoyed his time with his 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. For 56 years, he had a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Audrey (Zinck). He was the son of the late James Edward and Ella Mae (Veinot) Reeves. He was predeceased by sisters, Daisy, Florence and Ethel; brothers, Harold, Ira, Austin, Roland, and John who died in infancy. He is survived by brothers, Charles, New Ross; and Robert, Tremont; children, Margaret Ann (Broome), Kentville; Shirley (Hiltz), Bridgewater; Arlene (Shiers), Bedford; Ronald and Miles, New Ross. WALKER, Melvin Ambrose - 77, Upper Granville, Annapolis Co., passed away Saturday, November 6, 1999, in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Bernard and Clara (Levy) Walker. He was a well respected heavy equipment operator working for various construction companies, notably Standard Paving, Acadia Construction and retiring from Alron Construction Co. in 1987. He was a member of the Oxen Association at the Lawrencetown Exhibition and a member of the Burns Riverview Dancers. He enjoyed his family and took great pride in his home. He enjoyed being in the woods and the Ciderfest parades. He is survived by his wife, the former Madeline Helen Reeves; sons, Morris (Anne Pollet), Toronto; Harold "Hal" Kingston; Randy (Kim), Bridgewater; daughter, Renee (Rick) Corradini, Windsor; grandchildren, Michelle and Nicole Latta, Dustin, Kyle and Rebecca Walker, Anthony, and Sabrina Corradini; brother, Joseph Walker, Martock; sisters, Olive Lloyd, Berwick; Anna Cormier, Toronto; Kathleen Power, Aldersville; Gladys MacKinnon, Windsor.
