He was a resident of Toney River all his life where he operated a farm. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, the former Annie Falconer; daughter, Florence, New Glasgow. He was predeceased by sisters, Isabel Clark, Florence Abele, Janette Cruickshank, Charlotte Reeves. She was a member of St. John's United Church, Wallace; life member of the UCW and member and past matron of Cedar Chapter 3, OES. HARVEY, Charles Henry (Charlie) - 73, 1552 King St., Currys Corner, Windsor, died January 21, 1996, at home. Born in Summerville, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Henry and Margaret (Hill) Harvey. He was retired as custodian at Hants Campus, Windsor and an electrician by trade. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the 23rd field regiment of the RCE as a sapper in the Canadian Army. After the war he worked as a driver for Doran's Taxi, Windsor and had previously worked with H.B. Mitchell's, Wolfville as an electrician for many years. He was a member of Hants County branch 9, Royal Canadian Legion where he was very active and had held numerous positions. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Vivian Leopold; stepdaughter, Florence (Mrs. Marshall Reeves), New Ross; sons, James, Windsor; David (Yogi), at home; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by sisters, Blanche Wentzell, Stella Sanford; brothers, Percy, Maurice (Mike). McRAE, Dorothy Christine - 59, 130 Mayflower Dr., New Glasgow, and North Fort Myers, Fla., died March 21, 1996, at home in New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Chisholm) Reeves. She was educated in Blue Mountain School, Pictou Academy and the Maritime Business College. Following graduation, she was employed by Goodman Company Ltd., and Pictou County Power Board. Following her marriage in 1955 she helped in the family business as secretary for many years. She sang in the church choir for over 40 years, first in Blue Mountain, then Westminister and finally First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, where she was a member. She was past president of the Gyrettes and a member of the 9 Hole Club in North Fort Myers, Fla., where she was an avid golfer. Her accomplishments included work with the Boy Scouts of Canada. She introduced the beaver section to Pictou County in 1974. She was a leader of the First Beaver Colony in New Glasgow, and continued to help development in Pictou County for many years. She advanced to helping the growth of beavers in Nova Scotia where she reached the position of assistant provincial commissioner in charge of beavers. She continued to help develop the beaver movement outside of Nova Scotia where she spoke to eight different countries of the world brotherhood of Scouting. Surviving are her husband, Gerald James; daughters, Linda Keating, at home; Debra and her husband Peter Fraser, Pinetree; son, Ivor I. and his wife Louise, New Glasgow; sister, Janet (Mrs. Jack Horton), Bridgewater; six grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Alexander (Mac). Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. tonight, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. ORDE, Mary Elizabeth Reeves Vroom - 96, Annapolis Royal, died April 3, 1996, in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born at Deep Brook, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Kate Allen (Reeves) Vroom. She was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, and member of honor of the Port Royal chapter 1, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving is her son, Frank (Bud), Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank R.; brother, Major Robert (Bob) Vroom. Cremation has taken place under direction of Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. LENIHAN, Richard Alfred - 76, Halifax, died April 21, 1996, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John and Winnifred (Lydiard) Lenihan. He retired after 35 years service with CNR. During this period he was very active with the Halifax softball league for many years. He was a partner in Bayers Road Auto Supply Co. and worked there until retirement in 1985. He served during the Second World War as a WO2 for the duration. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice (Richardson); daughters, Diane Lamb, Suzanne Hayes, Halifax; sister, Mary McGuire, Halifax; grandchildren, Lisa Mullin, Dartmouth; Michelle Cleveland, Sackville; Thomas Boland, Ireland; Robert Lamb, Ontario; Troy and Lindsay Reeves, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Born in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Veinot) Reeves. She resided at Wentworth Road with her husband since 1953 and was a member of Christ Anglican Church and the Women's Working Association. Over the years, she donated pillow slips to the radio auction and enjoyed crocheting. (Taylor) Reeves. He was employed with Windsor Salt Co., Pugwash, having worked in Malagash and Pugwash mines for a total of 38 years. He was a member of Pugwash Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years, serving as financial officer and captain of truck 3. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Sheet Harbour. He was employed with Scott Paper Co., Sheet Harbour until its closure in 1971. He worked for Nova Scotia Power for several years and with the Department of Highways until retirement. He was an avid gardener and woodsman. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Grace (Reeves) Webster. She was raised in Amherst. She resided in Toronto for a few years and then joined the RCAF, serving in the Second World War as a flight officer. She was employed with the Canada Employment Service in Moncton and Halifax. She retired in 1968 and then resided in Moncton. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Moncton, and a member of the Willing Workers. She was a former member of Moncton Golf and Country Club and Moncton Curlers Association Business Women. Surviving are sisters, Joyce Dixon, Sackville, N.B; Phyllis Stewart, Amherst.
