VEINOT, Howard Thomas VEINOT, Howard Thomas - 95, Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, passed away March 4, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in The Forties, New Ross, he was a son of the late Enos and Agnes (Corkum) Veinot. After operating his own garage in The Forties in his earlier years, Howard moved to Ontario where he was employed as a mechanic at Ken Helen Motors, Toronto. He returned to Nova Scotia upon retirement. He is survived by daughter, Reta (Courtney) Reeves, New Ross; son, David (Sue) Veinot, Bradford, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Rhoda Veinot, New Ross; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Vera Hiltz; son, Roy; granddaughter, Maureen Lee Reeves; brothers, Joseph, Clarence, Otis, Edward, Wesley, Beecher, Harry, Guy, Frank and Lawrence; sisters, Ella, Amy, Elsie and Roxie. The body rested in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 8. Burial was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
LANGILLE, Raymond David - 51, Pugwash Junction, Cumberland Co., passed away June 13, 2000, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Wallace Bridge, he was a son of Violet (Vincent) Langille, Pugwash Junction and the late Bedford Langille. He was employed by Wetlands Engineering & Construction for the past 10 years. He was previously employed in Redcliff, Alta. as a Natural Gas and Oil Maintenance Construction and Operator for 20 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 60, Pugwash since 1989 and at one time was an active member of the Pugwash Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting in the fall. He is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Allen; sons, David and wife A.D., Pugwash Junction; Aaron and wife Tanya, Port Howe; daughter, Wanda and husband Craig Stevens, Pugwash Junction; grandchildren, Jaye Brown-Langille, Leslie Lynn Langille, Justin Aaron Charles Langille; sisters, Carol Smith and husband Lloyd, Alberta; Betty Dobson and husband Donnie, Oxford; Marilyn Reeves-Chatfield and husband Eddie, Pugwash Junction; Joycelyn Yarrow and husband Andy, Pugwash Junction; brothers, Alfred and wife Eunice, Red Cliff, Alta.; Charles and wife Charlene, Pugwash Junction; Wilbert and wife Linda, Red Cliff, Alta.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Alicia Jane; a sister in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash, Rev. Janet Travers officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
VanWILGENBURG, Peter Lee - 20, Cambridge, Kings Co., passed away October 17, 2000, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Berwick, he was a son of Anthony "Tony" and Rose Marie (Goucher) VanWilgenburg. He was employed with his father. Surviving are maternal grandparents, Freeman and June Goucher, Cambridge; paternal grandmother, Pietra VanWilgenburg, Kentville; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Anthony VanWilgenburg; paternal grandfather, Aart VanWilgenburg; maternal great-grandfather, Cecil Reeves. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Friday, both in W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour, Kentville, Rev. Jeff Hosick officiating. Burial in Cambridge United Baptist Church Cemetery. REEVES, Cecil Wayne - 63, Kamloops, B.C., died December 26, 2000,
in Kamloops. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Robert and Daisy
(Keddy) Reeves. He is survived by his loving companion, Dallas Reeves;
daughter, Tina; sons, Robert, Randy, Ronnie and Ricky; sisters, Dora (Ron)
Oakley, Halifax; Sylvia Webber, Chester Basin; Bertha (Charles) Russell,
New Ross; brothers, Ashton (Shirley), Arthur (Bea), Dean (Mona) and Blaine
(Veronica), New Ross and Parker (Shirley), Oromocto, N.B.; and several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Hattie. His remains
have been cremated. Memorial services were held in Kamloops, B.C. and the
Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg on January 6th.
