LeBLANC, Alphonse Benoit "Frenchy" - 85, Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg and formerly of Martins River, died April 27, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Jeremie and Rose (Pothier) LeBlanc. During the 1940's he had worked on line maintenance and bridge building for Canadian National Railways. Later on he had worked for over 40 years, in various production departments for National Sea Products, retiring in 1981. Surviving are sons, Eric and his wife Elizabeth, Bridgewater; David and his wife Wendy, Wileville; Ronald and his wife Sheila, Kentville; Wally and his wife Karen, Martins River; a sister, Alice and her husband Gerald Cottreau, Lower Wedgeport; a brother Leopold LeBlanc, Wedgeport; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Langille) LeBlanc; sister, Mary; brothers, Dana and Augusta "Gus". Visiting will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday in St. Martin's Anglican Church, Martins River, Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Martins River. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or S.H.A.I.D. Animal Shelter through Mahone Funeral Home.

KATIE ARLENE BARKHOUSE, – We regret to announce the passing away of our beloved mother, Katie Arlene Barkhouse, Martine Point, Lunenburg Co., on May 9, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. She was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Zwicker, (Gold River). She is survived by daughters, Mavis (Richard) Thornhill, Frankford, Ont.; Linda (Stanley) Drake, Martins River; and sone Sydney (Shirley), Western Shore; John ( Caroline), Greenwood; Lewis (Paulette), Martins River; Thomas (Elaine), Martins River; and daughter-in-law, Sandra, Martins Point; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Earl and Gary; sisters, Lena, Mae, Norma and Florence. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Frederick, Sr.; son , Frank Frederick, Jr. (Jackie) and sister Blanche. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martins Point, Rev Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Western Shore Cemetery. Family flowers only. LEWIS ST. CLAIR BOEHNER, - 72, Martins River, Lunenburg Co., passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2000, in the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born May 25, 1928, in Martins River, he was a son of the late Harry St. Clair and Carrie Idella (Rafuse) Boehner. He worked 39 years for Olands Breweries Limited until retiring in 1988. A loving and devoted husband,
father and grandfather, he was known for his generosity, loyalty and concern for those close to him. He will also be remembered for his sense of humour and ability to spin a yarn. He is survived and loved by his devoted wife, of 52 years, Loretha Goldie (Llewellyn), who cared for him unselfishly through his past five years of deteriorating health. Also surviving are his children, Daniel and wife Debra Shaw, Ottawa; Emily and husband Roger Griswold, Simms Settlement; Rick and companion Janet Carver, Carolyn and companion Fred Hiltz, Madeline and husband Edson Corkum, Gala and
fiancé Gerald Kerfont, Lewis George and wife Evyleen Keating, all of Martins River; his grandchildren, Loretha Jane and Garett Boehner, Lewis George, (of Blair), Charmaine, Adam, Shannon, Abby, Nicole and Allison Corkum, (of Madeline), Jonathan and Ann Marie Griswold, (of Emily), Stephen, Bobby and Shauna Boehner (of Rick), Melissa Boehner and Charmaine Wylie (of Dan) and sisters, Dawn Boehner and Madeline (Mrs. Elmer Eisner), also of Martins River. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Everett and another in infancy. Final arrangements are under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In keeping with Dad's nature, he did not want his passing to be a burden on family and friends. However, as a tribute to his love and caring for children, contributions may be made in his memory to the Health Services Association of the South Shore Foundation, Assistance for Children with Diabetes. Contributions may be dropped off the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital or South Shore Regional Hospital or mailed to The Foundation, 90 Glen Allan Dr., Bridgewater, NS B4V 3S6.

BERNICE A. HILTZ, – 77, Harbour View Haven, Home for Special Care, Lunenburg and formerly of Martin's River, died May 29, 2000, in the home. Born in Martin's Point, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Lottie (Sawler) McGinnis. She was a member of St. Martin's Anglican Church, Martins River. Surviving are daughters, Joyce Richardson and her husband Clyde, Martins River; Jean Boutilier, Bridgewater; son Paul, Bonny Lea Farm, Chester; sisters, Minerva Eisnor and her husband Cecil, Halifax; Elsie Clark and her husband Gerald, Mahone Bay; Marjorie Sendrowski and her husband Michael, Bridgewater; brother, Charles McGinnis and his wife Alice, Martins River; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald; sister, Bessie. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay; Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Martin's Anglican Church, Martins River, Rev. Barbara Minard officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery. CLYDE LEMUEL EISNOR, – 88, of Indian Point, Lunenburg Co., and most recently of Liverpool, passed away July 17, 2000 in Queen's Manor, Liverpool. Born in Indian Point, he was a son of the late Lemuel and Luella (Heisler) Eisnor. During his earlier life, he had been a fisherman. He was one of the last surviving cre members of the schooner Bluenose and skippered under the famous command of the late Capt. Angus Walters. Later in life, he had worked for various construction companies in Halifax until his retirement. He was a member of the Union Church and the Indian Oak New Horizon Seniors Club, Indian Point. He is survived by his companion and long time friend, Mae Allen, Mahone Bay; daughter, Carolyn Myra, Halifax and son-in-law Aubrey Myra, Chester Basin; son Gordon Eisnor and his wife Jackie, Liverpool; sister, Alice Giffen and her husband Cyril, Halifax; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Matilda (nee Heisler); sisters, Lila, Jean, Leta, Gloria; brothers, Harry, Wilfred, Lawrence. Visiting will be 2-4 and 7-9 today, July 18, 2000 in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jul 19, in the Inion Church, Indian Point, Rev. Linda MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Martins River. Flowers are requested from the family only.
