MILLER, Violet B. - 70, Head of Jeddore, Halifax County, died
November 28, 1994, in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit
Harbour. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, she was a daughter
of the late Henry and Elsie (Brian) Birks. She served during the Second
World War in Europe with the N.A.A.F.I. and while in Holland met
her husband. They were married in England and she came to Halifax as a
war bride. She was a member of the board of trade, volunteer for
Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital and served two years as president of
the hospital auxiliary. She taught Tai Chi in the local area. She
is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Terry and wife Janet, Lakeview;
grandchildren, Zachary, Briana; sister, Doriene Heaton, Gaetz Brook;
brother, Stanley, Toronto. Cremation has taken place. Family will
receive visitors 6 - 8 p.m. December 1, in Rowlings Funeral Home,
Musquodoboit Harbour. Donations may be made to Twin Oaks Memorial
