August 21st: - I received the Rx7 on a flatbed from Shelburne - and although the car is in great shape for being 23 years old - it does require some restoration - so it begins ....
August 23rd: I ordered a car cover from the U.S. and it was delivered on Sept. 10th - in the meantime, I dismantled all of the carpet & underlay, along with the seats and all interior upholstery - and went to work grinding & cleaning the interior rusted areas - then painted the whole interior metal with 2 coats of grey paint ..... along with de-greasing the inside of the front hood and painting it ...... as well as formed heavy metal pieces for the rusted floor areas (3 in all) .... and will have them welded - once I get the rest of the project done ....
September 19th: I went to Service Canada and paid the sales tax - so it's now registered in my name - albeit I haven't yet converted the insurance or plates ....
September 23rd: I ordered a new fuel pump & filter - which arrived on Oct. 2nd and I installed them - so I now have gas coming to the carburetor - but it's dirty - so I'll have to clean it ...... also noticed the metal box for the thermal reactor was badly rusted - so I made a new one .....
September 28th: I re-installed the carpetting and upholstery - along with hooking up the stereo amp and 6 speakers in the rear compartments ......
October 4th: I ordered another carb rebuild kit along with 4 NGK spark plugs .... though presently I'm cleaning the spare carb and probably will install it when it's finished - and then I'll take off and clean the carb that presently on the car ..... and took some before and after pics of the process .....
