Mrs. Emma Lorenz

    Dies Suddenly

Was Active Member of

 St. Johannes’ Church

Mrs. Emma Lorenz, wife of State

Patrol  Officer  Rudolph  Lorenz,

1256  East  Leafland  avenue, died

in  St. Mary’s hospital  at 1:25 p.m.

Monday.  She  became ill suddenly

and  was  taken  to the  hospital at

10 p.m. Sunday.  She had enjoyed

good  health  until  then.

   Emma  Hellenberg was born Aug.

8, 1879, in Detroit, Mich.  Married

Sept. 30, 1897 to Rudolph Lorenz,

they moved to Decatur in 1901. Mrs.

Lorenz  was  a  member of  St. Jo-

hannes  Lutheran  church  and  was

active  in  the  church  Ladies  Aid

society.

   Mrs.  Lorenz  is survived  by  her

mother,  Mrs. Caroline  Hellenberg,

Detroit;   her  husband;   three  sons

and daughters, Mrs.  Edwin  Knuth

and Mrs. Thomas Keck, Martin, Er-

nest  and  Victor  of Decatur;  a son

Walter  of  Detroit;  a daughter Mrs.

Ora  Huntley  in  St.  Louis; and  by

two  sisters,  Mrs. Christine Hiemer

and  Mrs. Hulda  James,  and  two

brothers, Walter  and  Karl,  all  of

Detroit.

   The  body  was  taken to  the Mo-

ran & Sons  funeral home to be pre-

pared  for  burial.  Funeral  services

will  be  announced later.
