1. John BOWER is believed to have been born ca 1805 in Germany.
Second Generation:
2. Charles BOWER (John 1) is believed to have been born ca 1845 in Germany and was married to Frances Helen PATTON born 15 Jan 1851 in New York, died 9 Nov 1922 in Saline County, Missouri.
Third Generation:
3. Frederick Eugene BOWER (Charles 2, John 1) (photo) was born 30 July 1867 in New York. Married Blanche Bluenna BENSON on 8 February 1890 in Scottville, Mason County, Michigan. Fred BOWER had a horse drawn wheat thrashing company that worked in the area of Krupp, Washington (the scablands) now known as Marlin, Douglas County, Washington. Fred BOWER disappeared 27 July 1939 from Grandview, Yakima County, Washington. His wife Blanche died 23 April 1942 in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington and is buried there in Tahoma Cemetery.
4. John BOWER (Charles 2, John 1) was born 17 February 1881 in Syracuse, New York. Died 18 November 1944 in Allegan, Allegan County, Michigan. Married Elizabeth Violet CUMMINS 21 Apr 1901 in Allegan, Allegan County, Michigan. Elizabeth was born 25 Apr 1881 in Allegan, Allegan County, Michigan and died 23 Sep 1962. Fourth Generation:
5. Glenn Roscoe BOWERS (Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 18 November 1891 in Washington. Married Phina KELLY. Glenn died 26 March 1966 in Homer, Alaska, where he came to work on the fish trap at Ninilchik. Glenn was a Fisherman.
6. Gerald Fred BOWER (Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 16 October 1896 in Eden, Mason County, Michigan. Married Rachel Belle GROVER 19 June 1920 in Union Gap, Yakima County, Washington. Died 3 November 1954 in Prosser, Benton County, Washington. and is buried in Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington. Gerald had wanted to go to Alaska, as a young man, with his brother Glenn, but became so violently seasick that he turned around and went home.
7. Ethel BOWER (Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 13 February 1900 in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington. Ethel married 1. Carl MUNZ on 6 September 1915 in North Yakima, Yakima County, Washington 2. Walter Scott ACORD before 1920 3. Louis ULVEN ca 1954 in Juneau, Juneau Borough, Alaska. Died 24 July 1966 in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington.
8. Maurice BOWER (Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 9 April 1907. Died 25 August 1908 in Krupp, Douglas County, Washington. Little Maurice was said to have eaten green apples, which the family thought caused his sickness and death.
9. Frank Lester BOWER (Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 5 Oct 1909 in Mt. Vernon, Skagit County, Washington. Died 5 July 1972 in Wapato, Yakima County, Washington. Married in 1942 to Mary Elaine PEPPLE born in 1909 in Cathay, North Dakota and died 27 Feb 1971 in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington.
10. Agnes Frances BOWER (John 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 30 September 1902 in Rock County, Wisconsin and died 29 November 1969 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Married to Patrick DEBRYN.
11. Charles Eugene BOWER (John 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 15 May 1904 in Allegan, Allegan County, Michigan. and died 25 March 1977 in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. He was married 30 Aug 1924 in Vicksburg, Kalamazoo County, Michigan to Gertrude Lucille NICHOLS born 4 Sep 1908 and died 19 Dec 2005.
12. Clarence John BOWER (John 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 31 December 1906 in Moline, Allegan County, Michigan. He died 17 Jun 1997 Kalamazoo Co., Michigan. Married 1st to Violet WHIPPLE, 2nd to Lucy ??, 3rd to Betty ??.
13. Violet Virginia BOWER (John 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 18 October 1909 in Michigan. Died 10 July 1980. Married on 11 Aug 1925 in Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan to Clifford LACROSS born 27 Sep 1908 and died 3 Sep 1994 in Grand Traverse County, Michigan.
Fifth Generation:
14. Bennie BOWERS (Glenn 4, Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1)was lost off Cape Douglas, Alaska when the fishing boat "Silver Sword" sank.
15. Glen "Buzz" BOWERS (Glenn 4, Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) b. 31 Dec 1929 in Seldovia, AK. He was raised in Homer, but had lived in Kodiak since 1959. He served in the U.S. Army, worked as a carpenter in the construction field and as a commercial fisherman. m. Anna ??? in 1982 d. 29 Sep 1999 at Kodiak Providence Hospital in Kodiak, AK and was buried in Homer, AK.
16. Bonnie BOWERS (Glenn 4, Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) died in infancy in 1929 in Alaska.

18. Dessie Margaret BOWER (Gerald 4, Fred 3, Charles 2, John 1) was born 8 Aug 1921 in Union Gap, Yakima County, Washington. She married Charles Arthur TRAUB on 1 Jul 1940 in Ellensburg, Yakima County, Washington. Died 9 Dec 1999 in Wapato, Yakima County, Washington.
