Tombstone of Richard and Sarah (MACKAY) TRANGMAR
Tombstone Transcription of above stone:
TRANGMAR

FATHER
RICHARD
1859-1931

MOTHER
SARAH MACKAY
1861-1930

~~~~~~~~
A descendant reports that Richard, an English immigrant who worked as a machinist, died 27 Nov 1931 of heart failure.  This descendant also reports that Sarah died on 14 Dec 1930, and that she was born in Scotland (all information we have not as yet documented).  Richard reportedly immigrated to the USA about 1880 and married Sarah in January 1882 (thanks, Carolyn!).  We have been extremely fortunate to have recently linked up with another Trangmar in England who reports that Richard was born on 27 April 1858 in Dalton-In-Furness, England, and who is generously going to be sending us copies of that documentation.
 Thanks, Mick!
To the immediate right of the TRANGMAR stone is:
Tombstone of Jane Evans MACKAY
Tombstone Transcription of above stone:
MOTHER
JANE EVANS
MACKAY
1830-1914
~~~~~~~~
We are trying to verify if Jane Evans MACKAY was the mother of Sarah (MACKAY) TRANGMAR.  Also trying to verify if "Evans" was Jane's maiden surname.  A relative reports that Jane died of "old age" on 12 June 1915(14?), details we have not as yet documented.  We apologize that this tombstone is so difficult to read!

To the immediate right of the Jane Evans MACKAY tombstone is:

Tombstone of Mathilda M. MACKAY
Tombstone Transcription of above stone:
MATHILDA M. MACKAY
1871-1934
~~~~~~~~
We are trying to verify if Mathilda was the daughter of Jane Evans MACKAY & the sister of Sarah (MACKAY) TRANGMAR.  A relative reports that Mathilda died on 14 March 1934 of a ruptured appendix, details we have not as yet documented.
Immediately behind the TRANGMAR tombstone is:
Tombstone of Elizabeth and Frank MAYWORM
Tombstone Transcription of above stone:
MAYWORM
Mother
ELIZABETH M.
1875-1956
Father
FRANK C.
1866-1941
~~~~~~~~
We are trying to verify if Elizabeth M. MAYWORM was the sister of Sarah (MACKAY) TRANGMAR and Mathilda M. MACKAY (possibly all daughters of Jane Evans MACKAY). One of Sarah's granddaughters remembers as a child visiting her dad's "Aunt Lizzie" (sister of his mother Sarah [MACKAY] TRANGMAR); she believes that Elizabeth MAYWORM was this "Aunt Lizzie".

As stated above, our main question is the relationship between all of these individuals.  We are trying to verify if Sarah (MACKAY) TRANGMAR, Mathilda M. MACKAY and Elizabeth M. (md. Frank C. MAYWORM) were sisters, and all the daughters of Jane Evans MACKAY. Also - was EVANS the maiden surname of Jane?

NOTE:  "MACKAY" is also seen spelled "MACKEY".

If you know the answers to these questions, or if you have any further information on any of these individuals, PLEASE email us!  We'd also love to hear from you if you think that you are related to one of these individuals!
