Charles Wayne Brooks born

Cochran 1972 and they
have several
common ancestors found in Montgomery
Alabama 200 years ago. The wagon trains
flowed
into Alabama
Territory while it was still a vast wilderness full of
wild beasts and
several tribes of indians.
Others were found in the 1600s
Virginia or even Rhode Island,
moving into New York Indian Country,
Pennsylvania and into the Midwest.
The Brooks migrated out of Tennessee
into Alabama working for
the railroad, settling in the downtown
area of Montgomery, where
I found some of the Fenn's also
working for the railroad. Uncle Frank
and Uncle Emmett Fenn talked of
hauling prisoners of war on the train.

It is
told that the families of John Little refused a land
allotment in Indian Territory Oklahoma. He
claimed to be white and moved to Arkansas, where he
is buried on some unknown mountaintop. His daughter
Lattie Cedonia told her children and my granny
Luella that they were mixed Cherokee from
Kentucky

that Miss Stephens' grandfather John was in the American
Revolution and then married a full blood Cherokee in SC
and gave her a Biblical name, before migrating to Ramer
AL
