John Wright Little
born in Kentucky 1843 is shown in the 1850 census with his parents and in 1860 with his father in law and family. He enlisted in the Civil War in 1861 and I have uploaded his pension papers to roots web among some family photos, tombstones, and other documents. He was a blacksmith and the family tells that he made guns. His great grandfather and his grandparents were among the first early pioneers to settle in Kentucky and lived in the various counties as they were formed, like Ohio County, McLean, Daviess, and Bullitt. John was very dark complected, with black eyes and black hair. His ancestors were farmers and hunted for deerAnd bear

Catherine G Wright , Grandmother of John W Little
John C Wright married Catherine G Weatherford, January 05, 1811, Charlotte, Virginia - the daughter of Charles......
My findings thus far reveal only one Charles Weatherford at that time, so if his daughter was old enough to marry, she must have been born about 1790 so Charles had to be born around 1750 - 1760.
This Charles had to be the one written about who's mother was Mary Half Blood and most likely the same one who fathered William Weatherford, known as Chief Red Eagle. This theory was also written by Lucius Powhatan Little and his daughter Laura Simmons Little Hawes and I cannot disprove it. Their family charts indicate that Polly Jones was Catherine's mother and she connected to a Thomas Jones of Bermuda Hundred in Henrico County, Virginia.
There is no doubt these families were well traveled back then, even on horseback, Charles Weatherford could have gone back and forth between the states and between his unknown wives, then again we do not know for certain that his daughter was even born in Virginia.
John and Catherine Wright had three daughters, Catherine, Martha, Mary.
Catherine married Hiram Little and she died young leaving children to sister Martha.
In 1850 Catherine Weatherford and John Wright were living with their daughter Mary Ann Wright Waltrip and her family. Mary and husband died young leaving children to her sister Martha.
In 1860 John Wright has died and his widow is living with daughter Martha Ann Wright and husband Douglass Little, caring for Mary's children and Catherine's children. Martha's son Lucius Powhatan Little is in this household.
John Wright Little is in this household. Those two cousins are being researched by many in the Midwest. Some granddaughters were named Georgia so we can easily suspect that Catherine's middle initial was for Georgia
