The Bozeman families of Darlington served in the American Revolution ( Jesse's father Peter and his father Mordecai ) and then migrated to Hope Hull Alabama in the 1820's appearing on the 1830 census records and land records. Lacy and some of her children died during an epidemic and are buried on that old property now owned by Newell, in a small cemetery that needs attention. Jesse lived by his brother William Henry Bozeman according to the 1840 census so it is quite possible that their father, Peter Bozeman is also buried on that land and many of Peter's descendants are listed on the Civil War Roster. Jesse was the administrator of brother Williams estate and also of their father Peter's estate, as documented in the Probate Office. Lacy's husband Thomas Randolph Carter's father was John Wise Carter who had settled in Talledega and his grandfather was Captain John Carter of the American Revolution. Lacy's only surviving child, Lucy, married a Calloway.
