Who's farm did William manage? Did they have
Indians helping? yes indeed, he helped his wealthy plantation owner Dad's Uncle Matthew Fenn, who did
employee Native Americans.
http://www.hometown.aol.com/carterancestry/Elijah.html
Elijah had John and Matthew
Not all children are listed in census
records ...perhaps Anna was pregnant at the time of
census..
Robert Lee Fenn born 3-16-1896, died in 1974 and
is buried next to Frank Jr in Coosada Alabama on the old Fenn Farm Cemetery. Robert was known as Uncle
Bud.
Yet I have heard the family refer to Uncle BUD,
they say was Robert Edward so am wondering if he was named Robert E Lee Fenn or such.....
But perhaps BUD is the also grandson now living in
Alabama.
Cecil Earl was born in 1900 and died in 1939,
buried in Montgomery, AL near his wife but Memorial Cemetery continues to fail to place his headstone that
my mother ordered from the VA

Wm Arthur Stone was born in 1901 - Wm died
in 1960 in Jacksonville FL - Annie had sent his photos to Wm when the child started playing baseball in 1923 and
the child was known as Tige Stone of the ST Louis Cardinals.
==============
Carrie lived in Oklahoma 1930 Indian Nation
with husband Ben Johnson.
Ben spent his childhood in Choctaw nation,
Texas.
Emmett went on a "big and tall" shopping trip on
the train to New York and died there but is buried in Montgomery. Emmett never married. Emmett's
brother Frank had a son named Bob who went to New York and brought the body back for burial, which
we found was next to Emmetts father in Greenwood.
Arthur died young but was married with children
and was remembered as Uncle Lee.
Frank Jr., served in WWI and his registration
showed the family living on Hull Street in downtown Montgomery near the train station in 1917 and then married
and had the big farm in Elmore County, was a fireman on the railroad, shoveling coal on it.
His wife Neva Mae Walraven was from GA and had to boil his clothing outside.
He told his children that Carrie Jean was only a
half sister according to his father's stories and that Earl was only a half brother. There was a small house fire
that destroyed all photos and documents.
If Earl and Carrie were only half siblings, then
who was their real father???
Perhaps they were darker than the
others and Mr Fenn never admitted their true indian blood and heritage and denied his very own
children.......
Earl told everyone that he was Cherokee
Indian and certainly looked like it. He was 6 and a
half feet tall, very dark characteristics, and his
children were the same, even many of his grandchildren.
Most of the Fenns are very tall...one is 6'
7"
Their mother Annie Lee stayed in touch by sending
letters, photos and very expensive presents from her home in Macon GA, up until about 1930, when she was
never heard from again.
Her husband, William "managed" a farm in Eufaula
Alabama and lived in Thompson where the children were born.
================================================
Was Tige Stone ? His census shows that his mother
was from SC and father from AL...the puzzle continues.
It is not known why Annie sent his photo to her ex
Fenn hubby.

Earl's military papers indicate 13 years in Army,
receiving travel pay back to his bonafide home in Macon GA
He had been adopted by the Carter
man
Earl marrried Emma Alice McClain about 1932 so did
he have another family perhaps in Texas?? Alice's family says that Earl was still military when she
married him in Montgomery Alabama.....
http://www.hometown.aol.com/carterancestry/Brothers.html
Earl was my grandfather and I have so many
questons about his past and his family.
