From South Carolina, Elijah Lee removed to Georgia where he married Malinda Phillips, and possibly served in the War of 1812, and had several children when they settled into Chambers County Alabama, where they are found on the 1840 census and 1850.

Their daughter Sarah F. Lee married Charner P Cooper, a son of Alsey and Andrew Cooper, also from South Carolina, found on the census living close to each other. * There are other families listed on the census who are probably related.
According to the birthdates of the children born in Alabama, the families were settled here by 1834.
Alsey Cooper had no maiden name ? Was she an Indian born in Cherokee Nation East. It is usually a clue when so much is known about the man and where he came from, and nothing is known about the wife.
Elijah Lee's headstone shows that he was born 1777 and the census indicates in South Carolina.
Elijah Lee and Malinda Phillips are buried at Old Harmony Church in Chambers County by son James C Lee. James and wife Elizabeth are buried by his parents

Sarah's son was named Levi Benjamin Cooper and he married Sarah Elizabeth Carter. Parents of Sarah were Thomas Randolph Carter born 1820 and a Mary Josephine Hereford of Virginia who resided in Montgomery Alabama

Daughter of Levi and Sarah was Susie Mae Cooper, who married James Edgar Brooks and Susie named her son James Jr. * James Brooks Jr married Mary Ella Thornton and named a son Charles. .
