G'day from WA!! My name is Kay Hinnrichsen (nee WILSON) and I live in Western Australia, although I was born and bred in South Australia. Because of my father's occupation as a Bank Manager we lived in various towns around the state. However I have always felt that Barmera was my 'home town' in the Riverland district of South Australia. The majority of my schooling was at Barmera Primary and Glossop High School.
I trained at Royal Adelaide Hospital and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1970. I married Harold Robert MUSICKA in 1967. In 1969, Harry was killed in South Vietnam aged 23 years. In 1970 I came to Western Australia and married Daryl HINNRICHSEN the following year, 1971. I completed my midwifery training at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women in Perth in 1973. Since then I have worked in a variety of areas around the state due to Daryl's work as a police officer with the WA Police Force until 1985. During this time we have raised 4 children:
Our
kids in 1996 - Jeff, San, Katie and Susie (front)
I now work
in the domiciliary field of nursing in Mandurah, a city with almost 47,000
people, situated on the coast about 75 kilometres (50 miles) south of Perth.
Mandurah is renowned for its fish, crabs and prawns and is very tourist
oriented.
