First Generation
1   Johann1 Wilhelm was probably born about 1760 {10}. He married Marie Elisabeth Braun {10}. They lived in Kerkow (1788) and later in Groß Ziethen (1816) {10}. Johann was a farmer. He is called Jean in the records.

Beyer Second Generation 2   Johann2 Wilhelm (Johann1 ) was born in Kerkow, 3 March 1788 {10}. Jean Wilhelm, of Groß Ziethen married Marie Elisabeth Beier, 1 Feb 1816 {10}. She was born in Senftenhütte, 14 Oct 1795, the daughter of Nikolas and Johanna (Krause) Beier {10}. She died 9 Feb 1819 [or 1879]. Johann died before 1845 {11}. Johann was called Jean in the older records {11}. They lived in Senftenhütte (1818) and later in Groß Ziethen (1845) {11}.
Child of Johann and Marie E. (Beier) Wilhelm, probably more+ 3 i Johann, b 9 Feb 1818; m Henriette Trebbin Third Generation 3   Johann3 Wilhelm (Johann2 Johann1 ) was born in Senftenhütte, 9 Feb 1818 {11}. Johann, of Groß Ziethen, married there to Johanna Henriette Trebbin, 13 Oct 1845 {11}. Henriette was born in Golzow, 16 Dec 1819, the daughter of Gottlieb Trebbin {11}. Johann Wilhelm managed an estate in Kurtshow bei Crossen on the Oder River (now in Poland) about 1860 {14}. By 1870, he was living in Althuttendorf, Brandenburg where he had purchased a farm {1}.

Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada + 6 iii Johann Adolf Reinhold, b 13 May 1859 Kurtshow; d 15 July 1932; m 1885 Luise Hinze 7 iv son, res. 1942 Althuttendorf Fourth Generation 4   Gustav Theodor4 Wilhelm (Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born about 1850 and died 12 Sept 1870. Gustav was killed in action at Reunilly, 12 September 1870, during the Franco-Prussian War. Mrs. Kurt E. Wilhelm has a bible which is inscribed: Gift of British and Foreign Bible Society in memory of Private Gustav Theodor Wilhelm of infantry in 12th North German Army Corps, 3rd Prussian Regt., Number 102, Crown Prince Regt., 1st Company, who fell on the 12th September 1870 at Reunilly at Sedan and died in field hospital of his wounds received in the Franco-Prussian War, given to his father in Althuttendorf by pastor Schultze of [—]tal
5   Mary4 Wilhelm (Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born in 1854 {31}. She married Jacob A. Willie. Jacob died 31 Jan 1926 [burial date?] {31}. Mary died 9 weeks later, 6 April 1927 [burial date?] {31}. Jacob and Mary Willie are buried at Estevan city cemetery, Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada {31}. Also buried there is Christian Willie, who died 1 September 1919 [burial date?] {31}. The location of the cemetery is described as "NW 1/4 Sec 27-T2-R8-W2" {31}. Jacob Willie lived in Mirage, Sheridan Co., Nebraska in 1890. Also found living in Mirage at that time was Chris Willie {40}.
6   Johann Adolf Reinhold4 4 Wilhelm (Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born 13 May 1859 at Kurtshow (near Crossen on the Oder River) {14}. He was baptized there on 29 May {14}. Reinhold married at Friedrichswalde to Wilhelmine Luise {Hintz, 20 September 1883. She, called Luise, daughter of Johann P. Hintz, was born 15 Dec 1861 [15 Oct?] in Friedrichswalde, Brandenburg, Germany. Reinhold died 15 July 1932. Luise died 20 June 1944. By 1870, Reinhold had moved with his parents to Althuttendorf. He served in the military in 1883. In 1886 he probably lived in Eberswalde, where son Erich was born. During the 1890's and after, he lived in Steglitz, Berlin. About 1927 he moved from Forst Str. 14, Steglitz to Locknitz, Pomerania where he died. There are postcards from Forst Str. dated August 1926 - Nov 1927.
Reinhold listed his religion as "evangelisch" which means Protestant or Lutheran. He was a cabinet maker (at Eberswalde 1885). A story is told in the family that he would sometimes hide money in furniture. He was so good at it, that the hiding places were almost impossible to find later on. While living in Steglitz, Reinhold also worked as a grocer.
Children of Reinhold and Luise (Hintz) Wilhelm+ 8 i Erich Reinhold Gustav, b 20 May 1886, d 1969, m 1913 Wilhelmine Meier 9 ii Emil Ernst Otto, b 16 Feb 1890, m 1916 Hedwig Wilke 10 iii Frieda, d 1918 during flu epidemic, m abt 1912 Albert Schlie 11 iv Anna Martha, b 1 Sept 1901 Berlin; d Dec 1964 Estevan, Sask., Canada; m 1928 Edward Willie 12 v Martha, d age 20 yrs. of pneumonia Fifth Generation 8   Erich Reinhold Gustav5 Wilhelm (Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born 20 May 1886 in Eberswalde. He married 22 March 1913 in Steglitz, Berlin to Wilhelmine A. Meier. She was born 10 July 1889 in Worleinen Kreis Osterode, East Prussia, to August and Maria (Grabowski) Meyer (also spelled Meier). Osterode is now called Ostroda. Ostroda is southeast of Gdansk (Danzig) and NNE of Warsaw. Erich died in New York City in 1969. Wilhelmine died 1 June 1974 at Providence, RI. They are buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Providence, RI. Wilhelmine, called Lina by her family, came from East Prussia to Berlin to work in the household of the Countess of Königsmark at Wilmersdorf. There is a postcard (undated) sent by Erich in Elberswalde to Miss Lina Meier at that address.
Erich was in naval artillery for his military service. He was stationed in Tsingtau, China from 1906 to 1909. In a postcard sent in 1908 by his brother Emil, Erich had the rank of "ober-matrosen artilleristen", artillery petty officer 3rd class. On 28 Aug 1914 Erich was stationed at Kiel with the IX Marine Artillery Abteilung. He served in the coast artillery in northern Germany (Kiel) during the war (1914-18). Erich later attributed his deafness to the blast of the guns he fired.
While living in Steglitz-Berlin, Erich and Lina Wilhelm lived at Schildhornstr. 21. Erich and his family moved from Berlin to Rio de Janeiro and then to New York City. Erich went first to New York, living with the Steuer family at 219 East 12th St., New York City. His family followed soon after. They left Rio on 5 Aug 1925 and arrived in New York about 17 August. In 1926 their address was 217 Kingsland Ave., Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. In 1930 their address was 35 Diamond St., Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, and in 1943 they were living at 127 Manhattan Ave., New York City. During the 1950's they lived at 72 West 108th St., Manhattan. Erich moved to 200 West 108th Street in August 1964.
Erich was a blacksmith and machinist. In New York he was employed as a machinist. He worked at one of the railroad terminals along the Hudson River. He had a hammer tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.
In 1930, Lina Wilhelm returned to Germany to visit relatives.
Child of Erich R. and Wilhelmine A. (Meyer) Wilhelm+ 13 i Kurt Erich Reinhold, b 9 Aug 1913 Berlin; d 15 Dec 1991; m 1946 Hope Hurdis 9   Emil Ernst Otto5 Wilhelm (Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born 16 Feb 1890. He married Hedwig Wilke, 3 Dec 1916, at St. Marlen, Strasburg. She was born 3 Dec 1893. Emil was a furniture and cabinet maker (1916-). He worked for the Bau und Möbeltischerei, 131 Löcknitz, Meckl., Chaurseestr. 66 und. Am Friedhof 3.
While in military service, Emil worked as a diver. He did underwater maintenance and repair. A postcard was sent to his brother in Tsingtau, China, 23 July 1908, from the S.M.S. Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel. Another card was sent 23 July 1908. Emil served on the S.M.S. Lothringen. During World War I, Emil was stationed at a submarine base in Belgium.
Children of Emil and Hedwig (Wilke) Wilhelm+ 2 i Christel, b 1919, m Max Will 10   Frieda5 Wilhelm (Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) married about 1912 to Albert Schlie. When Albert came home from the War in 1918, he had been exposed to the influenza epidemic. Frieda became infected and died in 1918. Albert married second to Emma Puhlman. Emma was a cousin of Frieda Wilhelm, being the daughter of Luise (Hinze) Wilhelm's sister. Emma died 6 April 1970 in Steglitz, Berlin, age 77. Albert operated a bakery on Schildhornstr. in the early 1920's. Emma Schlie lived in Berlin-Steglitz, first at Forststr. 12, then at Gritznerstr. 32.
Child of Albert and Frieda (Wilhelm) Schlie2 i Erwin, b abt 1913; died at the Russian front (Stalingrad) during World War II. He was a pilot. 11   Anna Martha5 Wilhelm (Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born 1 September 1901 {31} [1 Sept 1902]. She married in 1928 to Edward Willie {30}. He was born in 1891 in Sheridan County, Nebraska {30}. Edward died at the hospital in Regina, Sask., 12 December 1964. Anna died a few days later. Edward and Anna Willie are buried at Estevan Cemetery, Estevan. They had no children. Edward Willie came to Canada, and settled in the Hitchcock district in 1903 {30}. Anna was in Hitchcock, Sask. in August 1925, when she sent a postcard of a farm scene in Estevan to her brother Erich in New York. She went to Canada about 1925 to visit her aunt. Anna returned to Germany in 1928 for a four month visit with relatives. Anna's naturalization certificate, issued in 1940, listed her residence as Hitchcock.
Edward and Anna owned a 1,200 acre wheat farm at Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. He had rented out a portion of his farm land to Mr. Holtz since 1946. Edward retired from farming in 1962. The farm was sparsely furnished, and had no electricity or indoor plumbing. Kurt Wilhelm described the inconvenience of using the outhouse during -40 degree weather.
When Anna Willie died, the farm and most of the household items were sold or given to neighbors and friends of the Willie's. A few items were saved by the Wilhelms. Mrs. Kurt E. Wilhelm has a gingerbread clock and a bedcover that came from the farm.
Sixth Generation 13   Kurt Erich6 Wilhelm ( Erich Reinhold Gustav5 Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born 9 Aug 1913 at Schildhorn Strasse 21, Steglitz, Berlin. He married 8 June 1946 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Providence, RI to Hope Hurdis. She was born in North Providence, RI, 30 Oct 1923, the daughter of Edgar B. and Henrietta (Anderson) Hurdis. Kurt died 15 Dec 1991 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, age 78. Kurt and Hope Wilhelm lived at 8 Francis St., Warren, RI from 1946/7 until 1959 when they moved to 6 Knapton St., Barrington, RI.
Kurt graduated from Columbia University (B.S. physics 1935, M.S. physics 1938). During his career, he worked on research and development projects in the elastic thread industry.
14   Christel5 Wilhelm (Emil5 Reinhold4 Johann3 Johann2 Johann1 ) was born in 1919. She married Max Will. He died in December 1990. Max was a judge. Max and Christel Will lived in Berlin for many years (1 Berlin 20, Dywtzerstr. 67). Christel later moved to Hasenkamp 10, 2000 Wedel/Holstein, Germany.
