"Mrs. Anna Alexander, wife of Hugh Alexander, died 26 March 1843 at Richmond," age 52 years {16}. Hugh died 30 Apr 1862 in Richmond {31}.
Hugh is listed in the 1830 to 1850 censuses as living in Richmond with his wife and children. In 1860 he was living with his son Andrew. Hugh Alexander owned and operated a farm (1860 {8}).

James Alexander was a farmer (1850-1860 {7, 8}). In 1850 James Alexander, age 61, was living with his wife Eleanor, age 62, in Richmond, ME (dwelling #286). His real estate was valued at $2,000. Living next door (dwelling #287) were Robert B., age 32 (a farmer), James P., age 27 (a seaman), Susan D., age 25, Aletta, age 23, Susan G., age 31, Albert H, age 3, and Aby H. Alexander, age 2. Also in the household was Rasetta Jack, a female age 19. They were probably the sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren of James Alexander. {7} In 1860, James, age 71 was living in Richmond with his wife Elenor, 73, daughter Aletta, 33, and James H.
