Hi Kay, It takes me so long to write, because I usually have to call my mom to get the facts straight. Andrew is the only child born to Bob and Zena Wood. Bob got the nickname BOB because his younger sister couldn't pronounce his name and called him something close to "Bob", then it evolved into Bob and he kept the nickname the rest of his life. Andrew and Bertha did not have any children together. Andrew B.C. "Bob" Wood bought property in Uniontown with 2 old houses on it. He then enclosed the houses making one big house. (It is really small actually) That is the house my grandfather was born in. Him and my grandmother built their home next to it, when they retired and moved back there. I am still not clear on who the doctor was that my grandfather worked for. I thought it was his uncle and so does my mom. I will ask papa next time I talk to him. I think I will make a trip to see Papa and record his stories. I live in Nevada. My parents are in CA. Andrew Wood is a retired engineer who worked for Texaco for approx 40 years. When I was growing up in CA, they lived in Washington and Guatemala, so I didn't see them often. If I find out anything interesting, i will write you. Linda

By 1940, Andrew was no longer at home with his parents. I believe I found him in Pampa, Gray Co, TX, Hh 31, where he was boarding with Troy Johnston and his wife Gladys, at 508 S. Ballard. Johnston was the proprietor of a rooming house. Andrew gave his age as 24, single, born Arkansas and in 1935 he was living in the rural area of Crawford Co, AR. He was a truck driver for an Oil Well Company.

Andrew Wood of 508 S Ballard St., Pampa, Gray Co, TX was age 24, born 13 Dec 1915 in Uniontown, Ark. Mr. Andrew Wood of Uniontown, father, would always know his address. Employed by Williams Bros. Corp. in Houston. 5'11", 165 LB, brown eyes & hair; scar on left thumb; scar on right main toe.
