37. Samuel HENDERSON34 was born on 6 February 1746 in Granville County, North Carolina.3 He died in 1816 at the age of 70 in McMinnville County, Tennessee.3
Samuel married Elizabeth Calloway. Went with his brother Richard and Richard Calloway and the Transylvania contingent to Boonsboro, KY in Jun 1776. Elizabeth Calloway and Jemima Boone were captured by Indians and rescued by Daniel Boone and Samuel.
The birth and death dates of Samuel are said to have been based on markers in the old Riverside Cemetery in McMinnville - this marker can no longer be found.
Samuel HENDERSON and Elizabeth CALLOWAY were married on 7 August 1776.35 Elizabeth CALLOWAY, daughter of Richard CALLOWAY and Frances WALTON, was born on 14 August 1760.14
Said to have been the first bride among the settlers of Kentucky.
