1786, 3m 15d, Edom was married at the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting to Rachel Cashatt, daughter of John & Margaret Casatt.
1790 & 1800 Censuses. Edom is a head of household in Chatham Co, NC He also appears on a state census, 1807, in Highland Co Ohio. He is thought to have settled on Turtle Creek in the fall of 1804.
31 Dec 1803 Edom Ratcliff sold 259 acres on Blood Run in Chatham Co, NC to John Piggott for £300.
8 Sep 1809 Edom Ratcliff of Highland Co, Ohio sold 25 acres on Blood Run & Brush Creek to John Piggott for $66.

1809, 10m, 7d. The Cane Creek MM in Chatham NC granted a certificate of transfer for Edom and his family to the Fairfield MM in Highland Co, OH.

Edom died in Highland Co, Ohio and was buried at Turtle Creek Friends Meeting House, later renamed the Greenbury Meeting. The burial grounds later called Britton Cemetery and then Fetterling Cemetery. His date of death is seen as both 9 Sep and 9 Oct of 1823, but recorded as September in the Quaker records.
EDOM RATCLIFF and RACHEL CASHATT were married on 15 March 1786 in Chatham County, North Carolina. RACHEL CASHATT4, daughter of JOHN CASHATT and Margaret [CASHATT], was born in 1767. She died on 7 August 1851 at the age of 84 in Clinton County, Indiana. She was buried in Russiaville Cemetery, Howard County, Indiana.

"at a monthly meeting held 1st of 4th mo 1786 Report was here made that the marriage of Edom Ratcliff and Rachel Cashat was orderly accomplished. Robert was also made that the marriage of William Williams andRachel Kemp was orderly accomplished.
There is a Rachel Ratcliff buried in Russiaville Cemetery in Howard County, Indiana. The gravestone reads "7 d of 8th month 1851 in 84th year". Thus, she was born about 1767. She was likely Rachel Cashatt, the widow of Edom Ratcliff Sr. Her sons, Edom and Jacob, were both living in Howard County at the time of her death.
The Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy, Vol. 5. Newberry Monthly Meeting. Lists the Death of Rachel Ratcliff as the 7th of the 8th month, 1850.
Rachel is believed to be the daughter of John & Margaret Cashatt. She was not mentioned specifically in her father's will, but there were several known children that must have been included as "all my children". Four of the Cashatt siblings married into the Ratcliff family.
John signed his will 17 Nov 1810. He was then living in Chatham Co NC. He left to his beloved wife Margaret, the land where the were living for her widowhood and at her decease to be sold and equally divided among all his children. She is to have the stock, furniture, etc. All my estate, real & personal, to be sold after the decease of Margaret and the money equally divided among all my children. To daughter Margaret, the horse she claims, two head of cattle, two beds & furniture. To daughter Dorkes, one colt which she now claims, two head of cattle, one bed & furniture. To Granddaughter Mary Cashatt, one chest. Son John and friend Thomas Hadley to be executors.
