John PRICE37 was born about 1724.11 He died before March 1772 at the age of 48 in Halifax County, Virginia.38 There is no conclusive proof that this John Price is a son of John and Hannah Williamson Price. Most of the names chosen for his children are given names common to this Price family. His wife was named as Sarah in his will. There is another marriage seen for this John - to Elizabeth Brown, 7 Jul 1744 in Albemarle Co VA. Said to have had a daughter Lucinda. Some researches have apparently tried to reconcile this discrepancy by calling John Price's wife "Sarah Brown". I do not know which is correct, and he could have been married twice, but the following records seem to apply to a John Price of appropriate age. 7 Oct 1751 John Freeman of Henrico sold John Price of Goochland, 258 acres in Henrico. [Since John Price, husband of Hannah Williamson died before 20 Aug 1751 as evidenced by a deed from his son Daniel to John Bibb, this cannot be that John Price.] 3 Apr 1756, John Price of Goochland sold Samuel Shepherd of Henrico 258 acres on a branch of Deep Run. The tract was part of a greater tract patented to George Freeman and deeded to his son John. Wit: William Street, William & Susannah Willis. [Samuel Shepherd married Elizabeth Price, daughter of John Price & Hannah Williamson, so this sale could have been to a brother-in-law. The Willis & Price families were interrelated.] 5 Aug 1760, David & Dorcas Hall of Henrico sold to John Price of Goochland, 50 acres in Henrico. The 50 acres was adj John Blackburn, William Hall & Alexander Parson. Witnesses were Christopher John Thomas, Samuel Shepherd & William Price. [Another appearance of Samuel Shepherd; a William Price known to be a son of John & Hannah Williamson.] In 1756, Daniel Price, son of John Price & Hannah Williamson, bought land in Lunenburg Co as proved by a land purchase from Phillip Poindexter on 3 Jan 1756. In 1759, Daniel Price bought land in Lunenburg Co from Richard Brook. A John Price is listed as adjoining this property - he could be the unproved brother of Daniel. The following will recorded in Halifax Co [which was formed from Lunenburg in 1752] could be this same John Price: John PRICE and Sarah [PRICE] were married.38 Sarah [PRICE]38 was born (date unknown). Sarah was likely a 2nd wife based on the will of John Price. He appears to have married children and younger, minor children. John PRICE and Sarah [PRICE] had the following children:
