Andrew married Mary Angeline Armstrong in 1826. She was b. 28 Jan 1808 in KY and d. 21 Dec, 1883 in Trickham, Coleman Co TX. They lived in Hood Co TX, then Coleman Co.
Andrew first came to Texas in Jan of 1836 from Mississippi after which time his records appear in Nacogdoches Co. He was the Grantee of 979.47 acres in Van Zandt Co TX on 15 Dec 1852.
Andrew was a veteran of the War for Texas Independence and applied for Pension on 10 Nov 1871; it was approved in Aug of 1874. He enlisted in Capt. Bryant's Co. of Col. Cleveland's Regt in Mar of 1836 and in Jul of 1836, joined Capt Collin's group. He was at the battle of the Sabine and the fight at Ft. Houston. Geo. L. Ramsdale and George T. Walters, his brother, of Hood Co TX affirmed his service.
In 1850, Andrew & wife Mary are listed with 11 of their children. A son George Taylor Walters was born after the census was taken.

Andrew Chisum WALTERS and Mary Angelina ARMSTRONG were married in 1826. Mary Angelina ARMSTRONG was born on 28 January 1808 in Kentucky. She died on 21 December 1883 at the age of 75 in Trickham, Coleman County, Texas.
