Ballard P. BOWMAN was born on 5 December 1860 in Laurel Fork, Carroll County, Virginia. He died on 27 April 1933 at the age of 72 in Filbert, McDowell County, West Virginia.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Filbert for Ballard Bowman, 74, farmer, of Filbert, who died Wednesday at his home. Death followed an illness of about three years.
The deceased was born in Laurel Fork, Va., and is survived by his widow and five children, namely, Princess and Willie Bowman, Posey Bowman, Mrs. Almintia Day and Mrs. Lilly Dalton.
Interment followed in the Filbert cemetery.

Buried Big Creek/Dillon Cemetery, Filbert.

Hillsville - Mrs. Mallie Magdalene Bowman Goad, 85, died Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E.H. Vaughn, Galax.
Also surviving are two sons, John M. Dickerson of Dublin and Mawyer Goad of Dugspur; a stepdaughter, Mrs. W.S. Vaughan, Youngstown, Ohio; two stepsons, Ova Goad of Henderson, Md., and Guy Goad, Dugspur; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel by Elder Clevie Nester, the Rev. Oren Starr. Burial was in the Stanley Cemetery near Laurel Fork
