80. Lucy MABRY^52,99 was born in December 1818 in Grayson County, Virginia.⁹⁶ She died on 8 December 1901 at the age of 83.⁹⁶

Lucy's name is given as Charlotte Lucy in the McColman book.
Lucy gave her age as 31 in 1850.

Lucy MABRY and Christopher TURMAN were married on 4 April 1837.⁹⁶ Christopher TURMAN⁵², son of Elijah TURMAN and Barbara SLUSHER, was born in 1815 in Virginia.⁵² In 1850 and 1860, the Turman family was in Carroll Co VA.

1880, Laurel Fork District. Christopher Turman age 66, Lucy, age 64. Jefferson D. age 20, is the only child at home. Mary F. Keith, age 14 is listed as a servant, as is Luther Sutphin age 18. Mary Mabry, Lucy's mother, is living with them, now age 84.

Benjamin E. TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 6 June 1838 in Virginia.^52,99 He died on 22 December 1858 at the age of 20 in Carroll County, Virginia.¹⁰⁰ Death records of Carroll Co. Benjmain E. Turman died 22 Dec 1858 age 20 years for "tyfan" [probably typhoid] fever. Parent: Christopher Turman, also informant.
He is buried in the Elijah Turman Cemetery.

Mary Ann TURMAN⁹⁹ was born in 1840 in Virginia.⁵² Mary Ann was listed in the 1850 census as Nancy A. She married 27 Jun 1858 to Madison K. Helms, son of Hamilton & Arena Slusher Helms. Hamilton & Arena with their children were all living in Hancock Co IL in 1860. Then several of the children came back to Virginia and married. Madison & Mary moved back to Hancock Co IL in 1866. The last two children were born in the late 1870's in Missouri and the family was found in Daviess Co MO in 1900.

Bernard P. TURMAN^34,99 was born on 3 November 1841 in Virginia.^52,99 He died on 15 June 1926 at the age of 84.⁹⁹
Bernard "Payton" married on 11 Jan 1866 to Nancy Gardner, daughter of James Gardner and Emily Dalton. Payton joined the Confederate Armny on 16 Sep 1861 at Dugspur in Co G, 54th VA, the company of his uncle George Hylton Turman. He was captured in GA on 16 May 1864, sent to prison camp at Rock Island IL, and released 20 Mar 1865.
1870 Census. Laurel Fork Dist, Gladesboro P.O., Household 257. Barnard Turman gave his age as 24, Nancy as 25. Children were Sarah E. 3 and Henry C. age 1. Also living with them was his grandmother, Mary F. Mabry, age 73.
Payton lived on family land.
Charles Mabry deeded to his son Samuel, 80 acres of land. Grayson Co DB 10, p.43 [Charles was Lucy Mabry grandfather & Payton's great-grandfather]
Samuel then deeded this 80 acres along with another tract of 36 acres to his nephew-in-law Christopher Turman on 6 Aug 1853. Carroll Co DB 3, p.75 - this deed mentions pointers at Joshua G. Mabry, Joseph J. Mabry, E. Turman, Jesse Montgomery
Christopher Turman then transferred the same 80 acres, then known as the "Meeting House Tract" [the Quakers may have had their meeting there] on 17 Jan 1880 ot his son Payton.

Adaline Armelia TURMAN^52,99 was born on 23 April 1842 in Virginia.^52,99 She died on 6 December 1858 at the age of 16 in Carroll County, Virginia.¹⁰⁰ Adaline is not listed in the 1860 census. She would have been about age 16-18. She could have married or could have died.
Death Records of Carroll Co show that she died 6 Dec 1858, probably from typhoid fever. She is buried in the Elijah Turman Cemetery. Her brother Benjamin died 16 days later from the same cause.

Parthena Frances TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 26 February 1843 in Virginia.^52,99 Parthany married Stuart Canon on 19 Dec 1870. They are said to have moved to Missouri.

James McDowell TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 13 March 1846 in Virginia.^52,99 He died on 16 December 1924 at the age of 78.⁹⁹
James married Tabitha Gardner on 14 Apr 1868. She was a duaghter of Alex and Susanna Webb Gardner. James and another member of the family said to have served in Co G, 54th VA Infantry under his uncle George Hylton Turman.

Lucy Isabelle TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 12 March 1848 in Virginia.^52,99 She died on 28 January 1901 at the age of 52.⁹⁹ Lucy married John Henry Goad on 29 Mar 1870. He was the son of Aaron B. & Elizabeth Marshall Goad. Lucy & John are buried in the Elijah Turman Cemetery.

Elijah Gaynelee TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 9 December 1850 in Virginia.^52,99 He died in 1911 at the age of 61.⁹⁹ Elijah married on 15 Jan 1875 to Emmazetta Phillips, daughter of Randolph & Sarah [Phillips] Phillips.

Fielden Brackenbridge TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 12 November 1852 in Virginia.^52,99 He died on 19 June 1874 at the age of 21 in Carroll County, Virginia.¹⁰⁰ Fielden's death is in the Carroll Co death records. 19 Jun 1874. He was killed by falling timber at age 21; Christopher Turman, father and informant. He is buried in the Elijah Turman Cemetery.

Franklin Pierce TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 18 May 1855 in Virginia.^52,99 He died on 8 July 1921 at the age of 66.⁹⁹ Franklin married on 16 Jan 1878, Floyd Co, to Lourinda Thompson, daughter of Reuben and Elizabeth Layman Thompson. They were divorced. He came back to his brother James to stay and died in a few days. He is buried Elijah Turman Cemetery. Lourinda is buried in Greensboro, NC along with an infant they lost in 1892.

Jefferson Davis TURMAN⁹⁹ was born on 24 April 1860 in Virginia.^52,99 The infant, aged 2 months, in the 1860 census was listed simply as "Babe", male. He died on 15 April 1899 at the age of 38.⁹⁹ Jefferson married Susan Oney Gardner, daughter of Giles & Jemima Jackson Gardner.
