Online databases suggest two different husbands for Maude. I could not confirm either. One said she married John Alva Pierce, 15 Jan 1894, Will Co, IL. Another gave her husband as Lee Edward or Edward Lee Bowman - also married circa 1894. The Bowmans are in several censuses in Cass, IL. In 1900, Maud M. Bowman said she was born IL, parents born Ohio - after that her parents are listed as also born in IL.

The problem was solved by ordering a copy of the record from Cass Co. Lee Bowman of Frederick, Schuyler Co, IL, age 20 and Miss Maude Irvin of Rushville, Schuyler Co, age 19 applied for license on 20 Sep 1894. The father of said Lee Bowman gave his consent. They were married the same day in Chandlerville, Cass Co, IL by John Cherry, Justice of the Peace. Full name of the groom was given as Lee Bowman, living in Frederick, IL, a farmer, born in Schuyler Co. His father Wm. Bowman; his mother Emaline Bridgwater. He would be 21 on his next birthday. The bride was Maud May Irvin, living in Rushville, IL, born in Schuyler Co, her father Perry Irvin and her mother Eliza Avery. She would be 20 on her next birthday. It was a first marriage for both. William Bowman was witness to the marriage. Lee and Maude signed with their signatures.

Maude May IRWIN and Lee E. BOWMAN were married on 20 September 1894 in Chandlerville, Cass County, Illinois. Lee E. BOWMAN was born on 8 September 1874 in Schuyler County, Illinois. He died on 27 August 1945 at the age of 70 in Bluff Springs, Cass County, Illinois. He was buried in Beardstown City Cemetery, Beardstown, Cass County, Illinois.
Lee was age 44 when he registered for the WW I Draft. He was born 8 Sep 1874 and was living at RFD 1, Beardstown, Cass Co, IL. He was a farmer. Maud Bowman, wife, listed as nearest relative. He signed as Lee E. Bowman. Description was Medium Height - 5' 9 1/2", stout build; dark brown hair and eyes. Dated 12 Sep 1918.

Lee's death was in the Illinois Death Index at Ancestry.com. It also gives his parents as William Bowman and Emma Bridgewater; his wife as Maude.
