16. Josiah HOLTZCLAW⁴⁶ was born about 1740.¹⁵ He died before June 1817 at the age of 77 in Fauquier County, Virginia.

A lawsuit in Chancery Court of Fauquier Co VA, 1824, names the heirs of a Josiah Holtzclaw. It does not give the date of his death. Apparently his wife was already deceased as the property is being divided between his seven children.

Samuel Fisher, Henry C. Dade & Charles Bale had been appointed to sell and divide the estate of Josiah Holtzclaw. On 26 Oct 1818, John & Charles Holtzclaw signed a receipt for all bonds and money received by the Court and assumed administration of the estate.

Josiah HOLTZCLAW and Susannah [HOLTZCLAW] were married. Susannah [HOLTZCLAW] was born (date unknown).

Josiah HOLTZCLAW and Susannah [HOLTZCLAW] had the following children:

78	vi.	Bennett HOLTZCLAW was born (date unknown). Bennett bought the land at his father's estate sale, 10 Sep 1817.
