25. Joseph HOLTZCLAW50 was born about 1735 in Fauquier County, Virginia.48 He died in 1786 at the age of 51 in Fauquier County, Virginia.48 He served in the military at Capt William Edmunds' Company, 1761 in French and Indian War.

Henry, Joseph, and Mary Holtzclaw were granted land in Culpeper Co in 1753, as children of John Holtzclaw. Northern Neck Grant Book H, p.251.

Joseph served in Capt. William Edmunds' Company in 1761 in the French & Indian War. He and his wife were members of Carters Run Baptist Church in Fauquier Co. VA

Caty Holtzclaw was paid for supplies furnished the troops in the Revolutionary War. Joseph married Caty or Catherine, James about 1761. She was appointed administratrix of his estate at the March Court, 1786, Fauquier Co. At the October court, she was appointed guardian of the orphans, Archibald, Betsy, Stephen, Eli, Aggy, Franky, and Sally Holtzclaw. There was another child, perhaps born after Joseph's death, Caty Holtzclaw - Caty gave consent for her daughter of the same name to marry Joseph Lawler, 25 May 1801.

Joseph HOLTZCLAW and Catherine "Caty" JAMES were married in Fauquier County, Virginia.48 Catherine "Caty" JAMES50 died in 1810 in Fauquier County, Virginia.48

Caty was paid for supplies furnished the troops in the Revolutionary War (Public Service Claims of Fauquier Co. in the Dept of Archives, State Library, Richmond VA).
