| Descendants of William HigginbothamWilliam Higginbotham is probably the son of Caleb Higginbotham and Mary Ann ?Cash who moved from Amherst County, Virginia, to Elbert County, Georgia in the 1790's. There are strong traditions, but I've found no proof. William then moved to Dallas County, Alabama before 1820 but after he had several of his children, possibly at the same time his brother-in-law settled there. His marriage record to his first wife has not been found, in fact the proof of her identity is meager at best. At least one of his children has not been identified by name.
